According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health can be defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not just the absence of disease or illness”. Therefore, it is not enough to just be without any disease, it is necessary to be well with yourself and your body, without feeling pain or even sadness.

To achieve physical well-being, it is important to always be active through exercise. There is no age to start physical activities, so take a walk, swim or even heavier exercise, such as weight training. The important thing is to carry out an activity that generates well-being. In addition, it is worth keeping in mind that physical exercises increase life expectancy, decrease stress, in addition to providing more beauty when it comes to aesthetics.

Avoid bad feelings and always try to make people have a pleasant experience by your side. Nobody likes the company of bitter and spiteful people, do they?

Social well-being, in turn, concerns the social relationships of each individual. To be well socially, it is necessary to maintain good relations with the family, in the work environment and with society in general. This interaction with other individuals is fundamental to individual well-being.

Therefore, to be healthy, it is essential to be happy and fit. It is also important to have a good social life, to have friends and to relate. It is clear, therefore, that not always being healthy is easy and it is not even possible to be healthy at all times.

It is not possible to talk about healthy living and well-being without mentioning food, since healthy eating habits are important for the prevention or the appearance of diseases. This is because fresh or minimally processed foods have the ability to provide the nutrients your body needs and thus promote the maintenance and restoration of your body’s health.

In contrast, ultra-processed foods, in general, are low in nutrients and high in chemical additives, calories, fat, sugar and sodium. The increased consumption of these foods has been associated with a greater chance of obesity, cancer, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, depression, conditions of fragility and mortality from all causes.

Last but not least: drink more water! The total amount of water in the human body corresponds to 75% of the weight in childhood and more than half in adulthood. It is largely responsible for the transport of nutrients, the regulation of cells and other vital functions of the body. After that, there is no doubt about the importance of water for health, right?

Pure water, or “seasoned” with lemon slices and mint leaves, as is preferred by many people, is the best option for drinking liquids. It is also part of the food culture that consumption in the form of beverages such as coffee and tea. In this case, however, it is advisable not to add sugar or substitute artificially sweetened drinks such as soft drinks, chocolate or canned juices.

Nothing becomes complete and real if there is no willpower and that is what will define your health and well-being, it is not only actions that will lead to conquest.

So if you put your mind to it you will achieve any goal!
