1. Allergy 

Allergy to dust, domestic animal skin or flower pollen causes throat irritation, causing coughing until the cause of respiratory allergy is identified and eliminated. 

2. Gastroesophageal reflux 

Gastroesophageal reflux can also cause dry cough after ingestion of spicy or very acidic foods. 

3. Heart problems 

Heart problems such as heart failure, which causes fluid buildup in the lungs, can also cause coughing. 

4. Cigarette and pollution 

Cigarette use and smoking and pollution cause irritation in the throat, and may also stimulate the cough reflex. 

5. Asthma

  1. Good post, there’s a type of Asthma that’s specifically the Coughing Variant. Also, you’re right asthmatic people tens to be triggeres by strong smells. I have tachycardia due to anciety attacks too. Or even just like that at resting state. Which feels weird because your heart rate could be as high as 140 but it’s not necessarily fatal. 😅
